What we collect
When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, and phone number. Depending on whether you sign up as a participant or a business, we also collect a mailing address or business address, ZIP code, and details you add to your profile: things like the trades you're interested in, your availability, or a description of your business and what you offer. If you sign up as a minor, we also collect a parent or guardian's name and contact information for consent purposes.
Why we collect it
We use this information to match participants with trade businesses near them, to confirm shadow days and apprenticeships actually happen, and to keep everyone safe. ZIP codes and addresses let us match people by distance. Parent contact information lets us get consent before a minor participates. We don't use your information for anything beyond running the program.
Who we share it with
We share a participant's profile only with the specific businesses that participant expresses interest in, and we share a business's profile with participants browsing trades on the site. We don't sell your information, and we don't share it with advertisers, data brokers, or anyone outside the matching process described here. Nobody else sees your contact information unless the law requires us to disclose it.
How long we keep it
We keep your information as long as your account exists. If you want your account and data deleted, email us at [email protected] and we'll take care of it. We may keep a limited record of past shadow days or placements for reporting purposes even after an account is deleted, with personal details removed.
Cookies and tracking
We use a session cookie to keep you signed in. That's it. We don't run third-party trackers, ad pixels, or analytics scripts that follow you across other sites. If that changes in the future, we'll update this page and let you know.
